What do I do if I would like to dispute a ticket?
You must appear for court at which time you can request a bench trial or a jury trial..

What do I do if I cannot appear for court?
You must appear before the court to request a continuance. Please note that continuance requests are not guaranteed approval.

What types of payment are accepted for fines?
If you are paying in person, Greer Municipal Court accepts cash, personal checks, cashier checks, money orders, debit and credit cards.

If you are mailing your payment, Greer Municipal Court accepts only cashier checks and money orders. No personal checks will be accepted by mail.  Do not mail cash.

How can I be excused from serving as a juror?
Contact the court at (864) 848-5374 or 848-5375 if you are 65 years of age or older.  Jurors can only be excused by the Chief Municipal Court Judge on Wednesdays from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. and from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. before  the scheduled Jury Trial Term.

What number should I call if I have a Civil Case?
Judge Robert F. Simms is located in the Municipal Court Complex located at 100 South Main Street in Greer.  He may be reached by telephone at (864) 877-7464.

What do I do if I need to speak with the Judge before my trial date?
The Chief Municipal Court Judge is only here on Wednesdays from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. and from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. and cannot be contacted at any other time.  Call the Court if you have an emergency situation at (864) 848-5374 or 848-5375.

What if I cannot pay a fine?
The Municipal Judge can choose an alternative sentence or grant a request for payments.

What happens if I do not appear for Court?
If you choose not to appear as a defendant, victim, or witness you may be subject to arrest.
