Training Officer:  Sgt. Patrick Fortenberry

Sergeant Patrick Fortenberry has twelve years law enforcement experience.  He joined the Greer Police Department in 1995 after earning a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina and does also possess a Master of Science in Management degree fom Southern Weslyan University.  Sgt. Fortenberry has obtained instructor certifications in the following areas:  Firearms Instructor, Back-Up Weapons Instructor, Traffic Safety Instructor, Basic Instructor,  Critical Incident Response Training, FTO Management, Advanced DUI / SFST, Radar, Traffic Lidar (Laser), Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings, Driving Instructor, Taser Instructor, In-Custody Death Prevention, Racial Profiling, Multi-Media Deadly Force Instructor, Weapon Retention, Motor Vehicle Stops Safety Instructor, Chemical Aerosol Projector Instructor, and Respirator Training Instructor.

The Greer Police Department's training team is committed to providing advanced training to its officers in order to enhance their safety while performing their duties and to provide a better quality of service to the community.  The Greer Police Department allows officers from any law enforcement agency to attend the classes we host.

 

RECENT TRAINING:

The Greer Police Department recently moved into its new facility located at 102 South Main Street in Greer. The new Police Department contains a new state of the art training room that will be used to continue to provide advanced training for its officers as well as other officers throughout the state. The new training room is equiped with a projection system, plasma screens, and a wide range of audio/visual equipment that operates via a wireless system.
