Movie series planned to celebrate
Black History Month


Gregory's Boutique, Langford Electric, and Bi-Lo sponsor event


The City of Greer will celebrate Black History Month in February with a pair of free movies at the Events Center at Greer City Hall.

The series kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 with "Remember the Titans," the story of an integrated Virginia high school football team that overcomes prejudice and intolerance in 1971.

"Glory," a dramatic account of the Civil War's first all-black regiment, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.  The series will show the version edited for television due to the film's original R rating, stars Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeeman, and Matthew Broderick.

In addition to free admission, guests may enjoy complimentary popcorn and drinks.
