Rev. Wendell Thompson Sr. chats with Greer Police ChiefDan Reynolds at Thursday's Community Meeting.GPD Community Meeting postponed
Greer Police Chief Dan Reynolds wasn't sure if his department is simply doing a tremendous job or if Greer residents are in the throes of March Madness -- or perhaps a bit of both. What Reynolds did realize Thursday evening was that media outnumbered residents at the GPD Community Meeting at the Greer CPW building, so he simply spent some one-on-one time with those in attendance and promised to try again soon to connect with the public in a structured setting."When we get into the new building, we'll do this again and give everyone a look at the new facilities," Reynolds said. The GPD administration will begin moving its offices at 5 p.m. on April 17 from the temporary location on West Poinsett St. to the new Police and Court Complex at 102 South Main St. Administrative offices will be open for business at the new location beginning at 8 a.m. on April 21.City officials stressed that 911 services will not be interrupted during the move.
