City of Greer Parks Renovations
Home > About Greer > Parks Renovations
The recreational landscape in the City of Greer soon will have a new look as two facilities undergo extensive renovation.
City Park and City Gym located at Moore and Line Streets, just south of the new Greer Commons site, includes a gym that is used for adult basketball leagues and other indoor recreational leagues, as well as outdoor basketball courts for all-season play.
The existing baseball/softball field currently known as City Ball Field on the site will be completely renovated. It will host softball and youth baseball programs, softball clinics and camps, and may draw additional softball tournaments to the city. In addition to new bleachers and lights, plans include a concessions building with restrooms, open green space for families, a trail to promote health and fitness walking, and ample paved parking.

J.P. Stevens Ball Field, which has been used most recently for American Legion, high school, and college baseball games, also will undergo a major facelift with only the field and outfield wall to be retained. Improvements to the facility will make it possible for Greer to compete as a host for statewide and regional events such as the Dixie World Series, as well as offering a site for coaching clinics and special events.
