  Schedules and Standings

. Schedule

·         Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday of each week.

·         Game times will be 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

·         Games will consist of two 20 minute running halves.   The clock will stop ONLY for time-outs and injuries, until the game clock. Reaches 2 minutes to go in the half. When there is less than 2 minutes remaining in the half, the clock will stop for everything (out of bounds, fouls, free throws….etc...).

·         Games will have 2 officials, a scoreboard operator, and an official scorebook keeper, all to be provided and scheduled by the athletic department.

·         Records/Standings will be kept by the athletic department. They will be posted once weekly in the local news, on the athletic official website (www.cityofgreer.org), and at the Victor Park Gym.

·         At the end of the season, a double elimination tournament will be held. It will be seeded according to the final standings of the regular season.

 

II. Forfeits

·         Any team that forfeits 1 games will be removed from the basketball league.

·         A team that does not have 5 eligible players present at game time will have 10 minutes before a forfeit can be awarded. Should both teams agree, the clock can be started at game time? When the team short of required players gains enough members present to play, then the game can be started at that time. The length of the game will then be the remaining time on the clock. Both teams will still be required to pay the full official fee. A team can opt to take the forfeit after the 5 minute grace period.

 

III. Rules

·         Players are allowed 5 personal fouls.

·         Technical fouls do also count as a personal foul.

·         Loud cursing, or intentful cursing at an official or player will result in a technical foul.

·         Any player that willing fully enters an altercation with another player will automatically be permanently removed from the league.

·         Any players on the bench that come onto the court during an altercation will be automatically ejected.

·         Should a player receive a technical foul, he must sit out 2 consecutive minutes before re-entering the game.

·         Should a player receive 2 technical fouls in the same game, he will be ejected and forced to leave the gym. If the player does not leave the gym, the team can be made to forfeit the game.

·         Any player getting ejected will be serving at least a 1 game suspension.

·         2 ejections in one season will result in permanent removal from the league.

·         Teams have 2 timeouts per half. The timeouts not used in the first half may not be carried over to the second half.

·         Coaches or players may call time out during play.

·         The official scorebook will be the official record of game, regardless of the electronic scoreboard.

·         Players may ask the scorekeeper for information (how many fouls, etc…) during dead ball situations only.

·         All players must notify the official scorekeeper of checking into the game.

·         All players must have a jersey with a visible number.

·         The team representative must check in all players with the official scorekeeper before the game starts.

·         The team representative will submit the official fee of $20.00 in full, before the game begins. 

·         In the event a team that trails by 20 points or more, at any time within the last 2 minutes of the game, the game will be called.

 

IV. Rosters

·         Every team must submit a roster before the season begins.

·         No player may appear on more than one roster at the same time.

·         No player may play on a team if he is not part of their roster.

·         Any team that allows a non-member of their team to participate will forfeit that game, and all games the non-member   participated in.
