City leaders among magazine's Top 50
City of Greer Mayor Rick Danner and City Administrator Ed Driggers have been named among Greenville Business Magazine’s annual 50 Most Influential People issue on newsstands now.  Both were included in the area of government.

According to the magazine, the 50 most influential people “made the most impact on Greenville during the past year in the business, government, education and nonprofit categories” through their contributions to shaping Greenville’s business and community landscape over the past 12 months.

Danner and Driggers “led the charge to keep Greer growing in 2011,” according to the magazine. Economic development announcements of note under their tenure in 2011 included Honeywell’s $25,000,000 expansion of its Greer facility with the installation of new equipment to help improve efficiencies and add 30 jobs.

Being active in the community was also a key to the honor.

Danner, serving his third term as mayor, is a member of the Ten at the Top executive committee and serves on the boards of the Municipal Association of South Carolina and the State Workforce Investment Board.

Driggers, Greer’s city administrator since 2000, serves locally on the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce and Greer Development Corporation boards, and is currently president of the South Carolina City and County Management Association.
