Administrative Clerk (Part-Time)

The City of Greer is currently seeking a part-time Administrative Clerk in the Administration Department.
This position performs clerical and administrative duties in City Hall under the supervision of the Director of Finance and IT. Responsibilities include issuing and receiving fees for business licenses and permits; collecting and receipting fees and taxes for all departments; issuing building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing grading and moving permits; reconciling all receipts entered each day; preparing various reports using Microsoft Office System and Finance software; operating switchboard.
Job Requirements include high school diploma and three years of experience in general office work; Associate’s degree preferred in accounting or office technology, experience in Word and Excel necessary; must become notary public and be bonded. Must be able to deal effectively, courteously and professionally with the public in handling inquiries and communicating information. Also, must possess a valid S.C. driver’s license.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM; additional hours as scheduled.
Minimum salary is $12.70 hour (Grade 4); no benefits are provided with part-time positions .

Events Assistant (Part-Time)

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a part-time Events Assistant in the Parks and Recreation Department. This position will assist with the functions held at the Municipal Complex and parks.
Job Responsibilities include:
1) Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event.
2) Interacts with the public by responding to phone calls, taking messages, routing calls, providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions;
3) Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar;
4) Maintains records and files on activities and events, receives and receipts payments;
5) Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.
Job requirements include a High School diploma/GED.
Hours: Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Friday through Sunday and evenings; approximately 10 - 15 hours per week.
Salary: $10.20 hour.
