Greer City Council will work to determine a date for the city's postponed municipal election after the Department of Justice gave pre-clearance to a map with the city's new council districts.

Council will consider the election date at its February 28 meeting at Greer City Hall, taking into account the timetable for public notice of filing, filing period, public notice of the election, and the required 90 day period from the end of filing, the earliest Tuesday the election could be scheduled would be July 24.

At stake in the election will be District 1, 3, and 5 city council seats, the at-large mayor's office, and one Commission of Public Works seat.

Voters in the City of Greer may check a map of the new districts online (follow the link below) or in the lobby of Greer City Hall to determine if they have changed districts.
