Responsibilities: Responding to various types of police calls, patrolling assigned areas, making arrests, handling community policing, working as jailor as needed, appearing in municipal court, general sessions, and family court as necessary, preparing reports and records, etc.
Job requirements: High School diploma or GED and at least 21 years of age. Must be able to successfully complete (or be currently certified by) the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy; Must be able to work 12-hour shifts; must have a valid state issued driver’s license.
Grade 5 – Entry salary $28,271 for trainee; DOE for certified officer.

| Events Assistants (part-time) |
The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for multiple Part-Time Events Assistants in the Parks and Recreation Department. This position will assist with the functions held at the Municipal Complex and Parks.
Responsibilities: Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by responding to phone calls, taking messages, routing calls, providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar; Maintains records and files on activities and events, receives and receipts payments; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.
Job requirements: High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Hours: Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.
Salary: $10.20 hour.
