Part-Time Clerk

The City of Greer is currently seeking a Part-Time Clerk in the Police Department. This position performs clerical and administrative duties in the Criminal Investigations Division under the supervision of the lieutenant

Responsibilities: Enters specific information from activity reports into a spreadsheet database while reviewing for crime trends, series or needed intelligence information;  Receives all initial correspondence to CID; Composes letters, bulletins, memorandums, reports and other requests by Investigators; Creates case files for all assigned cases; Maintains and enters all assigned cases into a database for Investigators; Enters and maintains all law enforcement related schedules for CID division including court dates, interviews, meeting, etc.;  Files closed and cleared case files;  Enter prisoner debriefing and FI information as needed;  Maintains and updates office supplies; Updates and maintains juvenile files;  Delivers mail, case files, office supplies, etc. to perspective office;  Prepares and/or processes various records and reports.

Job Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in research and data collection or related field; Associate’s degree preferred in criminal justice or geography; Experience in Word and Excel necessary;  Must be able to deal effectively, courteously and professionally with the public in handling inquiries and communicating information.

Hours:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM; additional hours as scheduled.

Salary:  $13.55 hour (Grade 4); no benefits are provided with part-time positions.

Part Time Custodial Worker

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Custodial Worker in the Public Services Department.  This part-time position is responsible for general maintenance and cleaning of assigned facilities.

Responsibilities:  Maintains facilities in a clean and orderly condition; Maintain floors to include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, cleaning carpets, buffing, waxing, etc.; Empties trash containers and keep containers clean and sanitary; Maintains restrooms in a clean and sanitary manner; replaces soap, toilet tissue, paper towels, etc.; Maintains cleanliness of walls, windows and furniture by washing, dusting, waxing or buffing; Assists the Events Staff with set-up and clean-up of scheduled events; Performs custodial work prior to and following scheduled events; Assists in other areas as needed to complete custodial, maintenance or landscaping duties.

Job requirements: High School diploma/GED and experience in custodial or maintenance preferred.  Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.   Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Hours:  Approximately 28 hours per week; 5:30 am to 11:00 am Monday through Friday. Weekend hours possible and will vary based on event schedules. 

Salary:  $10.88 hour

Events Assistant
(part-time in rentals)

is currently accepting applications for Multiple Part-Time Events Assistants in the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position will assist with the functions held at the City of Greer Events Center.

:  Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar;  Maintains records and files on activities and events; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.

Job requirements:
High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

:  Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.

Salary: $10.73 hour.
