Recreation Leader
(part-time)

The City of Greer is seeking a part-time Recreation Leader in the Recreation Department.

Responsibilities: Assists in the planning and implementation of various programs, including Athletic Division, Recreation Division, Cultural Arts Division and Events Division activities; Assists in promoting recreation center programs and providing information to the public; Clerical responsibilities involve completing reports, activity schedules, filing, copying, correspondence, etc.

Job Requirements: High School Diploma/GED supplemented by two years of responsible experience in recreation programming or general administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

Hours:  Approximately 25 hours per week; Hours and days will vary; Weekend, evening and holiday work required. 

Salary:  $10.88/hour.

Public Services Worker I

The City of Greer is accepting applications for a Public Services Worker I in our Public Services Department. 

Responsibilities: Various labor duties involving cleaning streets, trimming limbs, cutting grass, and repairing sidewalks, etc.  This position will also be responsible for minor repairs in City buildings, picking up trash and debris and cleaning ditches and drains.  Will operate variety of equipment and tools.

Job Requirements:  Must have a high school diploma or GED.  Minimum one (1) year of experience in maintenance, truck, equipment operations or other relevant experience.  Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license and able to pass drug screen and criminal/credit background check.

Salary: Minimum salary $23,006 (Grade 1); dependent on experience.

Events Assistant
(part-time in rentals)

The City of Greer
is currently accepting applications for Multiple Part-Time Events Assistants in the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position will assist with the functions held at the City of Greer Events Center.


Responsibilities
:  Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar;  Maintains records and files on activities and events; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.

Job requirements:
High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Hours
:  Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.

Salary: $10.73 hour.
