Events Coordinator

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for an Events Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position will assist with the functions held at the Municipal Complex and Parks.

Responsibilities:  Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; prepares and/or processes various records and reports such as budget recommendations, media releases, monthly reports and general office correspondence; Coordinates calendar for the use of the facility/park; Interacts with the public by responding to phone calls, taking messages, routing calls, providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use;  Maintains records and files on activities and events, receives and receipts payments; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event.

Job requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in recreation or related field; Minimum one (1) year of experience in this area. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

Hours:  Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; some nights and weekends will be required.

Salary: Grade 4 – Dependent of experience; minimum salary - $28,185 a year.

Summer Camp Counselors

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for multiple Summer Camp Counselors in the Recreation Department. 

Responsibilities: Oversees and plans activities for youth, ages 6-15, as well as organizes and implements games/themed activities related to the camp.  Counselors may be individually responsible for small groups of campers &/or participate in large group activities.

Job Requirements:  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and attending or graduated from high school. Must be certified in CPR and first aid (classes may be offered).  Must be able to drive a City of Greer mini bus (training will be available).  Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.  Must have valid state issued driver’s license.

Hours:  Monday - Friday, hours will vary between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM; up to 40 hours per week.

Salary:  Minimum salary:  $7.50 hour

Summer Camp dates:  June 8 - August 7, 2015 (closed June 29–July 3).

Responsibilities
:  Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar;  Maintains records and files on activities and events; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.

Job requirements:
High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Hours
:  Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.

Salary: $10.73 hour.
