| Detention Officer |

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Detention Officer in our Police Department.
Responsibilities: processing prisoners into the jail; completing required paperwork; obtaining photographs and fingerprints; acting as desk officer in meeting public; answering phones, taking messages, routing calls; providing assistance in regard to warrants; taking written reports; entering information into records management system; receiving, reviewing, preparing and/or submitting a variety of reports and documents.
Job Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and basic computer skills. Must be able to successfully complete a three-week training class at the SC Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia that includes a physical fitness test. Must be able to work varying shifts, up to 12 hour per shift. Must have a valid state issued driver’s license.
Hours: Varying shifts, up to 12 hour per shift. Training will take place from either 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM
Salary: Grade 3 – Salary dependent of experience; minimum salary $25,433 year.

| Uniform Patrol Officer I |

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Uniform Patrol Officer I in the Police Department.
Responsibilities: Responding to various types of police calls, patrolling assigned areas, making arrests, handling community policing, working as jailor as needed, appearing in municipal court, general sessions, and family court as necessary, preparing reports and records, etc.
Job requirements: High School diploma or GED and at least 21 years of age. Must be able to successfully complete (or be currently certified by) the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy; Must be able to work 12-hour shifts; must have a valid state issued driver’s license.
Hours: 12 hours shifts
Salary: Grade 5 – Entry salary $29,119 for trainee; DOE for certified officer.

| Events Assistant (part-time in rentals) |

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for Multiple Part-Time Events Assistants in the Parks and Recreation Department. This position will assist with the functions held at the City of Greer Events Center.
Responsibilities: Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar; Maintains records and files on activities and events; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.
Job requirements: High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Hours: Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.
Salary: $10.51 hour.
