Police Lieutenant

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Lieutenant. Reports to the Police Captain. 

Skills and Knowledge Required: Experience with the methods, procedures and policies of the police department,   police and general administration including, but not limited to, law enforcement training and management programs, performance evaluations, investigations, uniform patrol procedures and practices, supervisory experience in law enforcement, firearms skills, knowledge of structure, function and relationships of county, state and local law enforcement agencies, ability to adhere and execute the compliance of department and city personnel policies and procedures, ability to function professionally, efficiently and maintain confidentiality in all daily operations, decision making abilities, effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills of both technical and non-technical material.

Job Requirements:  Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in criminal justice, police science, public administration, business administration or a related field.  Bachelor’s degree, preferred.  Must be L.E. Class I certified or equivalent.  Minimum five (5) years of law enforcement experience with three (3) years of progressive supervisory experience.  Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

Salary:  Grade 9 – Salary dependent upon experience; minimum annual salary $38,960.

Events Assistant (part-time in rentals)

The City of Greer
is currently accepting applications for Multiple Part-Time Events Assistants in the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position will assist with the functions held at the City of Greer Events Center.


Responsibilities
:  Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar;  Maintains records and files on activities and events; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.

Job requirements:
High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Hours
:  Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.

Salary: $10.73 hour.
