Maintenance Superintendent

The City of Greer is accepting applications for a Maintenance Superintendent in our Public Services Department.

Responsibilities: Supervise, direct and coordinate housekeeping activities and custodial staff.  Function as working supervisor as necessary to complete tasks.  Visually inspect and document cleaning results of custodial workers in all City buildings;  Select, order and inventory custodial and maintenance supplies, materials and equipment; Provide overall maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems to include the service and repair of all air conditioning equipment;  Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to chillers, towers and associated equipment; Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment such as boilers, condensate tanks, pumps and other mechanical equipment; Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on emergency generators regularly; Respond to specific building service requests and take corrective actions.  Prioritize needs and adjust schedules accordingly; Handle plumbing and electrical repairs and maintenance; Serve as primary contact for all building repairs and maintenance issues; Respond to call-back for emergencies 24/7.

Job Requirements:  High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of seven years’ experience in the building maintenance field; Associates degree, preferred.  Must be skilled in all areas of facilities maintenance to include electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical.  Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

Salary: Minimum salary $39,291 (Grade 112); dependent on experience

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

Summer Camp Counselors

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for multiple Summer Camp Counselor positionsin the Recreation Department. 

Responsibilities: Oversees and plans activities for youth, ages 6-13, as well as organizes and implements games/themed activities related to the camp.  Counselors may be individually responsible for small groups of campers &/or participate in large group activities.

Job Requirements:  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and attending or graduated from high school. Must be certified in CPR and first aid (classes may be offered).  Must be able to drive a City of Greer mini bus (training will be available).  Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.  Must have valid state issued driver’s license.

Hours:  Monday - Friday, hours will vary between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM; up to 40 hours per week.

Salary:  Minimum salary:  $8.00 hour

Summer Camp dates:  June 5 - August 4, 2017 (closed July 3 – 7).

Events / Rentals Assistants (part-time)

Position will remain open until filled

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for Multiple Part-Time Events Assistants in the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position will assist with the functions held at the City of Greer Events Center. 

Responsibilities:  Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar;  Maintains records and files on activities and events; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.

Job requirements: High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Hours:  Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.

Salary: $11.87 hour
