Welcome to the City of Greer Parks & Recreation Department
Creating Community Through People, Parks and Programs
The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for instructors to teach classes over the holidays and into the new year. We woud like to be able to offer several themed craft classes to compliment the holdiay seasons. If you have a special talent you would like to share with the citizens of Greer, please contact Wes Harbin @ 848-2192.
Upcoming Programs:
The Egg-Tastic Easter Event 2010:
The Greer Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting our annual Easter Event on Saturday, March 27th, 2010 at Century Park and Kid's Planet. The event will run from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and will be FREE to the public. The rain date for this event will be Sunday, March 28th from
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Check back soon for more infomation!
Summer Camp Registration 2010:
Registration for Summer Adventure Camps will begin on Monday, March 22nd, 2010. You may register your child for the Victor Camp (Teen and Junior) or the Needmore Camp beginning on the above date. A deposit will have to be made when registering to reserve the camper's spot. Check back for more information in the coming weeks.
Senior Exercise Classes:
The “Seniors Out and Around” (S.O.A.R) program will be offering a new set of exercise classes beginning on February 16th and running every other Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 am – 10:00 am at the Victor Gym on 108 South Line Street in Greer. You do not have to be a member of S.O.A.R to participate. If you would like to join our group, please visit the S.O.A.R page for a list of our other activities.
Recurring Programs:
PIANO PERFORMERS:
Piano classes and tutoring services are provided through this one of a kind program. The classes meet every Monday afternoon from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Tryon Street Recreation Center on 226 Oakland Avenue, Greer, SC 29650. Creative Advancement After School Programs:
A unique after school program is being offered through the Greer Recreation Department by Creative Advancement. The program is being offered Monday though Friday 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Victor Gym on 108 outh Line Street. For more information regarding this program, please contact Dan Dudley @ 423-7555.
Needmore After School Program:
The City of Greer Parks and Recreation Department offers an exciting and beneficial after school program during the school year at the Needmore Community Center. Students continue their daily enrichment through homework assistance, devotions and social interactons. The program is offered Monday though Friday 2:45 pm - 6:00 pm. For more information regarding this program, please contact Wes Harbin @ 848-2192.
"Senior's Out And Around" (S.O.A.R) Programs:
The S.OA.R Senior group meets several times a month at the Victor Gym on 108 South Line Street for fun and fellowship. For more information on these activities, please visit the Senior's Page or look for the "Programs Calendar" at the bottom of this page. You can also call Wes Harbin @ 848-2192.
