The completion of the new Greer City Hall in 2008 established a permanent home for Greer City Council, which over the past decade had occupied borrowed and leased spaces for its meetings.
The new facilities proved worth the wait.
City Council meetings are now held in one-third of the Events Center at Greer City Hall providing 1,500-square-feet for council, its guests, and visitors. State-of-the-art technology includes a projector and screen that drop down from the ceiling when needed. Ceiling-mounted cameras and dedicated audio feeds from each microphone permit staff to record meetings from an adjacent audio-visual room.
