Greer Idol Competition                       4:00 p.m.

This year's Greer Idol promises to be one of the best yet and Freedon Blast is the setting for Week Three of the popular singing competition.

Now in its fifth year, Greer Idol is modeled after the hit Fox Network series American Idol.  Contestants earn the right to compete through an audition process and the field is narrowed each week until just two Idol hopefuls remain to view for the title.  The 2011 series begins on June 17 as part of the Tunes on Trade music series held Friday nights in Greer Station.

Greer Idol will begin at 4 p.m. in the City Park Amphitheater during Freedom Blast.  Audience members are encouraged to cheer on their favorite Idol contestants and cast votes in an effort to help select the finalists.
