Saying "thank you" to an active member of the military or a veteran is always a good idea. Purchasing a t-shirt or an honor flag at Greer Memorial Hospital Freedom Blast is another way to say thanks.

"They Stand Tall" t-shirts produced by Purple Tuna Tees of Greenville to recognize the Freedom Blast world premiere of Kylie Hinze's song by the same title, will be on sale at the Guest Relations tent throughout the July 2 festival at Greer City Park.  Shirts sell for $10 with net proceeds to be donated to the Blue Star Moms, who prepare packages for deployed troops.

The City of Greer and Disabled American Veterans are offering  paper honor flags that allow guests to recognize a loved one at Freedom Blast.  The flags, which will be available at the festival or in advance at Greer City Hall or the Parks and Recreation Department at the cost of $1, will be displayed around Greer City Park throughout the festival.  Proceeds will be donated to the DAV.

"The Blue Star Moms and Disabled American Veterans have been a part of Freedom Blast since the city's first festival in 2009.  It's rewarding for the the City of Greer, Purple Tuna Tees, and Freedom Blast guests to give back to these very worthy organizations," city events supervisor Laurie Campbell said.

Guests may also purchase the official 2011 Greer Memorial Hospital Freedom Blast t-shirt for $10 at the Guest Relations tent.  Advance purchase information for those shirts is available by calling  848-2190
