Greer Tackle Football
Youth tackle football is a fall program offered by the City of Greer Parks and Recreation Department for ages 6 through 12. Registration takes place throughout the month of May. Our season typically runs August through mid October. The teams are coached by volunteers who enjoy the game of football and teaching the kids the fundamentals of the game. League age is determined by September 1st of the current year. If your child turns 13 after September 1st of the current year, they are eligible to compete at league age 12.

Tackle Football Age Divisions are as follows
- 8U (7 and 8 year olds)
- 10U (9 and 10 year olds)
- 12U (11 and 12 year olds)
How to Register
Players may register by visiting our Online Registration Website or by visiting the Greer Parks and Recreation office located at 446 Pennsylvania Avenue, Greer, SC, 29650
Registration for the season is $75 for City residents and $95 for non-residents, which includes jersey, supplemental insurance, official/booking fees, trophies, and materials to operate the league.
Tackle Division Note
Fee includes jersey and helmet decal only. This fee does not include shoulder pads or helmet for our tackle division. Those are the responsibility of the parent. Loaner / Rental Equipment is no longer being offered.
Weight Restrictions (Tackle Only)
Please note that Greer Youth Football is weight restricted in the tackle division. This does not mean your child cannot play football if he or she exceeds the weight limit. However, for the safety of all players, any child who exceeds the maximum weight for a particular age group will be restricted to playing on the offensive or defensive line. Each player will attend a preseason weigh in and jersey sizing session. Date and time will be provided to all players.
Waiver & Birth Certificate
Every parent will be given a waiver form during sizing session or registration. This form is required in order to be able to participate. A valid copy of your child’s birth certificate must be presented to athletic staff and put on file at the time of registration.
