Signs

Signs must be permitted and approved through the City's Planning and Zoning Department.

Signs Not Allowed

The following signs are not allowed:

• Beacons
• Moving signs including pennants and corporate flags
• Portable signs
• Roof signs
• Strobe lights

It is unlawful to paste, paint, nail, or place placards, handbills, pictures or other advertising signs or materials on any of the following

• Fence
• Lamp post
• Outside wall of a building within the city.
• Telegraph
• Telephone or power pole

Advertising materials may be placed inside buildings, display windows, or automobiles with the consent of the owners.

Sign permit applications are available from the Building and Development Standards Department.
