2021 General Election

The Municipal Election Commission of the City of Greer announces the general election for The City of Greer to be Tuesday, November 2, 2021.  Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than 5 p.m. on October 1, 2021, in-person, or online by midnight on October 3, 2021.  To register, one must contact the County Board of Voter Registration for the county in which they reside.

The following offices shall be included in this election:

• Councilmember from District 2 for term expiring December 31, 2025.

• Councilmember from District 4 for term expiring December 31, 2025.

• Councilmember from District 6 for term expiring December 31, 2025.

• Commissioner of Public Works for term expiring December 31, 2027.

This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.

At 2 p.m. on Election Day the poll managers will begin examining the absentee ballot return envelopes.  This examination will be held at the Greenville and Spartanburg Voter Registrations and Elections Offices.

On Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville County Square, Suite 1900 the Municipal Election Commission will hold a hearing to determine the validity of ballots challenged in this election.

Any run-off will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
