Residential Structure Fire at 135 Pinewood Dr. in Greer.
The Greer Fire Department, along with automatic aid companies from Pelham Batesville Fire Department, Tyger River Fire Department, and Taylors Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 135 Pinewood Dr. in Greer earlier this evening.
The fire was reported to the Greer 911 Center at 19:27:00 by a 911 caller. Companies were dispatched at 19:27:49 and started arriving on scene at 19:34:33, the fire was under control at 20:26:22. Firefighters arrived to find a single story residential structure with smoke and fire showing from the front and rear of the residence. Crews worked in an offensive strategy, which included crews for fire extinguishment and crews to conduct a primary and secondary search. The building was occupied at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.
CPW responded to support crews with the securing of utilities.
Deputy Fire Chief Josh Holzheimer said, “The fire is currently being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office, and at this time, the fire remains under investigation.”

This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for everyone who lives in our wonderful City and the business owners and visitors who help make it so special.
City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday so our staff can spend time with their loved ones.
What are you grateful for this season?
The City Park Playground will be closed from Monday, November 13 through Thursday, November 16 so our crews can install and repair the slides. The playground is expected to reopen on Friday, November 17.
Shoutout to these awesome volunteers who came to help clean the Sunnyside Community on Saturday! They collected 14 bags of litter throughout the area.
A special thank you to Tena Irby who saw the need in her neighborhood and asked the city to help organize the effort!

Check out the Greer Civics Academy during their session at the Greer Fire Department last night! Participants learned how the department operates, got a tour of the Hood Road station and the fire engine, plus got to try out the jaws of life and aim a fire hose!

Greer Fire Department firefighters participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Fluor Field over the weekend. Those who climbed the stairs say this is a meaningful way to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
