2023 General Election

The Municipal Election Commission of the City of Greer announces the general election for The City of Greer to be Tuesday, November 7, 2023.  All candidates must reside in the City of Greer and, in the case of Council candidates, reside in the district for which they intend to file.

 The following offices shall be included in this election:

 • Councilmember from District 1 for term expiring December 31, 2027.

• Councilmember from District 3 for term expiring December 31, 2027.

• Councilmember from District 5 for term expiring December 31, 2027.

• Mayor (at large) for term expiring December 31, 2027.

• Commissioner of Public Works for term expiring December 31, 2029.

 This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.

Any person wishing to vote in this election must be registered at least 30 days prior to the election. Registration by mail applications must be postmarked at least 30 days prior to the election to be eligible. If the deadline falls on a Sunday or U.S. Postal Service holiday, the postmark deadline is extended to the next day that is not a Sunday or holiday.

 At 2 p.m. on Election Day the poll managers will begin examining the absentee ballot return envelopes.  This examination will be held at the Greenville and Spartanburg Voter Registrations and Elections Offices.

 On Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville County Square, Suite 1900 the Municipal Election Commission will hold a hearing to determine the validity of ballots challenged in this election.

 Any run-off will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

 The following precincts and polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.:
