Loose Leaf Collection

Kids may love piles of leaves, but that isn’t always the case for homeowners. That’s why the City of Greer Public Services Department works on a structured schedule to collect loose leaf piles curbside during the fall and winter.

Collection

Vacuum trucks will pick up loose leaf piles three times at every City of Greer residence between November 6, 2023 and February 9, 2024. Most residents find that the loose leaf collection schedule is adequate to clear their yards of leaves each season. However, if you need to dispose of leaves more frequently, please be aware that bagged leaves and those in an approved container (contact Greer City Hall at 848-2150 for purchase information), will be collected weekly.

Tips for Quick and Easy Collection

Please observe the following to make sure that your loose leaf piles are collected:

  • Have loose leaf piles at the curb on the first morning of the scheduled collection date in your area. You may always add to a pile until leaves are collected at your home, but city trucks cannot repeat any portion of their area routes.

  • Make sure the leaf piles contain only leaves. Sticks, twigs, brush, rocks, and household garbage mixed with the leaves can easily damage leaf collection equipment. Leaf piles found to contain foreign objects may not be collected.

  • Be aware that holidays during the schedule may affect the duration of loose leaf collection in any given area. These dates have been accounted for in the collection schedule, including extended collection dates for affected routes.
