Youth tackle football is a fall program offered by the City of Greer PRT Department for ages 6 through 12. Registration takes place throughout the month of May and June. Our season typically runs August through October. All Greer PRT tackle football teams are coached by volunteers who enjoy the game of football and teaching the fundamentals. League age is determined by September 1st of the current year. If your child turns 13 after September 1st of the current year, they are eligible to compete at league age 12.

Greer City Stadium - 601 West Arlington Avenue, Greer, SC, 29650 (home to most of our tackle football events)

Tackle Football Age Divisions  are as follows 

• 8U (7 and 8 year olds)

• 10U (9 and 10 year olds)

• 12U (11 and 12 year olds)

How to Register
Players may register by visiting our Online Registration Website at the top of the page. Or, visit the Greer Parks, Recreation & Tourism office located at 446 Pennsylvania Ave.

Fees
Registration for the season is $75 for City residents and $95 for non-residents. This includes jersey, supplemental insurance, official/booking fees, trophies and materials to operate the league.

Tackle Division Note
Fee includes jersey and helmet decal only. This fee does not include shoulder pads or helmet for our tackle division. Those are the responsibility of the parent. Loaner / Rental Equipment is no longer being offered.

Weight Restrictions (Tackle Only)
Please note that Greer Youth Football is weight restricted in the tackle division. This does not mean your child cannot play football if he or she exceeds the weight limit. Any child who exceeds the maximum weight for a particular age group will be restricted to playing on the offensive or defensive line. This is for the safety of all players. Each player will attend a preseason weigh in and jersey sizing session. Date and time will be provided to all players.

Waiver & Birth Certificate
Every parent is required to sign online waiver form at the time of registration. A valid copy of your child’s birth certificate must be presented to athletic staff and put on file at the time of registration.
