May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the City of Greer is showing our support! This past Wednesday, was “Be Seen in Green Day” for us, which helps bring awareness to mental health by wearing the color green. Green is the official color for mental health awareness and represents renewal, hope, and vitality. Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans will experience a diagnosable mental health condition this year? If you see someone struggling with their mental health, please reach out to them and try to offer support. We can all make a difference in someone’s life or our own if we join together and advocate for one another.

Did you know that nearly 26% of the total street maintenance labor hours spent by the public services department went towards loose leaf collection this past year? And not to worry either, your 115 loads of leaves went toward a good cause, as they were sent off to a local farm to be used as compost!
