This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for everyone who lives in our wonderful City and the business owners and visitors who help make it so special.
City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday so our staff can spend time with their loved ones.
What are you grateful for this season?
The City Park Playground will be closed from Monday, November 13 through Thursday, November 16 so our crews can install and repair the slides. The playground is expected to reopen on Friday, November 17.
Shoutout to these awesome volunteers who came to help clean the Sunnyside Community on Saturday! They collected 14 bags of litter throughout the area.
A special thank you to Tena Irby who saw the need in her neighborhood and asked the city to help organize the effort!

๐จA Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test will occur today๐จ
The national test will consist of two portions, testing WEA and EAS capabilities. Both tests are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET today, Wednesday, Oct. 4. The alerts will go to TVs, radio, AND CELL PHONES.

The City of Greer Recreation Division released several monarch butterflies back into the wild this morning. Itโs all part of an environmental conservation effort where our staff collects and raises monarch caterpillars for release. The matured butterflies are tagged and tracked to their destination in Mexico.
The monarch butterfly is on the endangered species list, and Greer is proud to have been named a Monarch City USA for its efforts in repopulation.
The City of Greer Center for the Arts is currently displaying the work of several Hispanic and Latino artists in recognition of Hispanic Heritage month. Join us for a reception on October 6 or drop by during normal hours!

You may have noticed this restaurant on Trade Street looking a little different these days. The Mason Jar has completed renovations to the front of the establishment, adding garage door style windows to allow for open air dining and the addition of even more seating! Have you stopped by yet?
