Elections

The City of Greer operates under the leadership of the Greer City Council, with one council member elected every four years by registered voters in each of the city’s six districts.

The Mayor, representing all districts, is also elected for a four-year term through a citywide election.

Additionally, voters elect Commissioners of Public Works, an at-large position similar to the Mayor.

Municipal elections in Greer are non-partisan, meaning candidates appear on the ballot without political party affiliations. On occasion, voters may also participate in referendums to decide significant issues affecting the city.
