A big sign of progress rolled out this week at Stevens Field.
Crews poured the asphalt for two outdoor basketball courts at the recreation complex on Ball Park Street. It will take four to five weeks for the material to be ready for the next step: installing the court surface.
When they're finished, the courts will be available to the public for free play. The city will also host community events, games, and even skateboarding classes there.
The weather has caused quite a few delays on this project, but the city expects the work to be finished by mid-June. We’ll keep you posted.
