This week's Greerview features a new sculpture taking shape at the Center for the Arts, a star-studded week of golf and charity, and the return of Tunes in the Park.
Woodcarving at the Center for the Arts
A professional woodcarver is working on a new addition to the Center for the Arts! Artist Edwin Hutchison of Ice Age Carvers is currently creating a large wood carving depicting monarch butterflies, who travel through Greer on their migratory path to Mexico each year! The structure joins several other sculptures on the Center for the Arts grounds and is set to be completed this week.
City Council Budget Workshop
Greer City Council is considering the budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year. City leaders are hosting a series of workshops for Council and the community to learn more about what’s proposed and why. The next budget workshop is coming up on Tuesday at noon at Greer City Hall. Greer150 History Drive
On Saturday, the Greer Heritage Museum hosted a history drive aimed at collecting and preserving stories and artifacts from the city’s first 150 years. Thanks to everyone who added to the archive of our shared history.
Tunes in the Park & Idol are Back for the Summer
Saturday saw the return of a fan favorite outdoor concert series, Tunes in the Park! Folks enjoyed live music and food trucks on the lawn of City Park and cheered on local talent in the first installment of this year’s Greer Idol competition! Don’t miss the next event on June 20!

The BMW Charity Pro-Am is right around the corner, and for the second year in a row, one of the kickoff events will be right here in downtown Greer. Join us May 31 for the ParTee on Trade. Enjoy live music from Back 9, local food trucks, vendors, a kid zone and more.
