The Greer Warhawks kicked of their home season on June 4 at Stevens Field, continuing a long-standing tradition of American Legion Baseball in the Greer community.
Thursday’s home game also served as Greer Employee Night, bringing city employees and community members together to support local athletes and celebrate another season of baseball! City of Greer Athletics Coordinator Phil Hembree threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.

Supported by Greer American Legion Post 115, the Warhawks are part of a program that has been developing talented athletes for generations. Since 1925, American Legion Baseball has built a reputation as one of the nation’s most successful and tradition rich amateur athletic leagues. Beyond competition on the field, the program emphasizes qualities like sportsmanship, empathy, and teamwork, creating experiences that leave a lasting impact on players and families alike.
The Greer Warhawks roster features student athletes from across the Upstate including Greer, Blue Ridge, Riverside, Greenville, and Eastside High Schools. In 2019 Greer Post 115 secured the South Carolina American Legion State Championship for the first time in 60 years, cementing the program’s place in Greer’s rich history of athletic excellence.
Fans attending this season’s games can also enjoy recent improvements to Stevens Field, which continue to enhance the experience for athletes and supporters alike.
