Greer and Riverside High Schools are celebrating Homecoming Week. That's just one of the topics covered in GreerView for the week of September 21, 2026.
Homecoming Parade
The Yellow Jackets' annual homecoming parade is set for Thursday, September 24 at 5:00 p.m. The procession will start at the entrance of Chandler Creek Elementary at 301 Chandler Road and end at the Dooley Field parking lot at 3000 Gap Creek Road.
Greer Police will close several streets for the festivities beginning at 4:40 p.m., but officers will reopen them as soon as the parade passes through.

Greer Homecoming Game
Greer HS will take on Laurens Dist. 55 High School on Friday night at 7:30 at Dooley Field.
Riverside Homecoming Game
Riverside plays Broome in the Warriors' homecoming matchup, which is also on Friday at 7:30.

Greer Planning Commission will meet tonight (September 21) at 6:30 at Greer City Hall. Take a look at the agenda.

Greer Alive!
Greer Alive! returns Friday night (September 25) with live music and food trucks. The free event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Greer City Park. Check out the Greer Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Facebook page for more information.
Railfest
Railfest rolls into City Park on Saturday, September 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This family-friendly event celebrates the mode of transportation that put Greer on the right track to grow into the city it is today.
You can visit local train and railroad organizations and enjoy a variety of free activities.
Where to Park
Parking is free at the Jason Street Garage, which is just a short walk away from Greer City Park. Check out the city's Public Parking Map for other free options. Take a look at pickup and drop-off locations for the free downtown shuttle service if you prefer to park and ride.
Railfest Boarding Pass
When you arrive, stop by the Information Booth to pick up your Railfest Boarding Pass. Collect a stamp at each participating train organization throughout the festival. Once you complete your Boarding Pass, bring it back to the Information Booth to receive a special prize.

Trackless Train Rides: Take a free ride through Greer City Park!
Kids Crafts: Get creative with train-themed crafts inside Greer City Hall.
Family Fun: Enjoy free inflatables, face painting, balloon art, caricatures, and miniature golf.

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Arts & Eats which is coming up on October 3. The annual street festival in downtown Greer includes dozens artisan vendors, live music, food, and activities for kids.
