Sunday Public Safety Alert: Please avoid the area around Gap Creek and Skyline Roads. The Greer Fire Department is working to contain a large brush fire in challenging terrain behind the Wood Memorial Park cemetery.

These dedicated folks work hard and stay calm under extreme pressure to make sure our community stays safe and in communication with emergency services.

Crews are making a temporary rail replacement today to get through the weekend, with additional work scheduled for Monday. Duke Street will close at 9 a.m. Monday, April 6, and reopen at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 9.



United Composite Materials has chosen Greer for its first South Carolina operation. The company’s $17.5 million investment will create 50 new jobs.

Mark your calendars now for March 28. The Big Bash is going to take over downtown to celebrate the city’s sesquicentennial – 150 years of Greer!
As the final band plays, Stone Entertainment will put on a spectacular laser light show along Trade Street. The light show will cap off a day full of music, community, and time travel.

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday morning to celebrate the opening of The Muscle Veteran. Owner Olivia Booth’s mission is to give athletes and veterans the support they need to recover, stay strong, and maintain mobility. She offers sports, therapeutic, and post-surgical massage as well as cupping therapy and stretching.
Fun fact: The Muscle Veteran is located inside Bellamore, which is another woman-owned business in Greer.
