Playground closure notice: One of the Kids Planet playgrounds at Century Park will be closed Thursday for repairs. Contractors will replace the damaged surface material on the playground designated for kids ages five to 12.

Greer FD says the large brush fire near the intersection of Gap Creek and Skyline Roads is contained, but it will continue to burn for days.
Sunday Public Safety Alert: Please avoid the area around Gap Creek and Skyline Roads. The Greer Fire Department is working to contain a large brush fire in challenging terrain behind the Wood Memorial Park cemetery.

Heads up for anyone traveling near Turner Park or behind Greer CPW in the coming days. CSX will temporarily close part of Duke Street at Pennsylvania Avenue for emergency railroad crossing repairs.
Crews are making a temporary rail replacement today to get through the weekend, with additional work scheduled for Monday. Duke Street will close at 9 a.m. Monday, April 6, and reopen at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 9.

The railroad crossing on S. Main Street between Pennsylvania Ave. and Randall St. is now open again. CSX has completed its work on that area of the railroad tracks, and the road is no longer blocked.

🚗 Heads up! A large majority of the parking lot at City Hall will be closed off from 6am Saturday morning. All vehicles must be moved either out of the lot or into the area marked by the yellow box on the map. The lot should reopen by 6pm Saturday evening!

Greer150 Announcement: The Big Bash is going to have a Big Finale!
Mark your calendars now for March 28. The Big Bash is going to take over downtown to celebrate the city’s sesquicentennial – 150 years of Greer!
As the final band plays, Stone Entertainment will put on a spectacular laser light show along Trade Street. The light show will cap off a day full of music, community, and time travel.

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday morning to celebrate the opening of The Muscle Veteran. Owner Olivia Booth’s mission is to give athletes and veterans the support they need to recover, stay strong, and maintain mobility. She offers sports, therapeutic, and post-surgical massage as well as cupping therapy and stretching.
Fun fact: The Muscle Veteran is located inside Bellamore, which is another woman-owned business in Greer.
