Trash collection update: Meridian Waste plans to pick up Tuesday's routes on Wednesday. They will also circle back to the Monday customers on streets that weren't safe for their trucks today. They will get what they can safely. We'll keep you posted on the schedule for the rest of the week. Thanks for your patience.

City of Greer trash collection will resume Tuesday morning with Monday's routes. Some streets are still not safe to navigate with the trash trucks, so crews won't get to everyone on Monday's schedule tomorrow. City of Greer offices are closed today and will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 27. The city will open for business at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. There could be some changes in scheduled programming, but, as of now, the City Council meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. will go on as scheduled. City of Greer offices are closed today, but our essential employees are out working to keep the city safe. Street crews have done significant work on Highway 14/Main St. and S. Buncombe this morning, but if you don't have to go out, stay home. Fewer cars on the roads will help them work safely and as efficiently as possible.

Trade will be open for foot traffic during the street closure, but pedestrians should use caution. City crews will treat the sidewalks, but roads will be first priority once the severe weather hits.
