ForGreer Project Update:
September has been a big month for two of the city’s biggest projects.
You can see the progress on the Public Safety Training Center if you drive by the site on Hood Road.
This week, crews started putting up the masonry on the outside of the main building which will house the indoor firing range, classroom training space, and offices.
The fire tower is now up to five floors. When it’s finished, the tower will simulate a variety of real-world emergency scenarios to provide the most realistic training possible.

The City of Greer has a long history of athletic excellence, and last Friday’s Greer High School Hall of Fame ceremony carried on that tradition!
We are proud to celebrate our very own Deputy Fire Marshal, Carl Howell (GHS Class of 1967), on his well-deserved induction.
From his years as a Yellow Jacket football player to decades of supporting Greer athletics by escorting officials to home games, preparing game-day traditions, and ensuring the famous Yellow Jacket team entrance, Carl has been a true ambassador for Greer High and our community.
Congratulations, Carl!
