Ellie with Mr. and Mrs. Claus

During a special meeting with the big man himself, a Greer girl named Ellie learned that her wish had been granted.

“We were contacted by Make-A-Wish and this was her wish reveal for Ellie. They granted her wish to go to Disney at the end of this month,” Ellie’s mother Kathryn Tanner said.

Ellie’s mother, Kathryn Tanner, says Ellie has undergone dozens of surgeries since she was born.

“Ellie was born with a rare brain aneurysm that caused her to have heart failure and seizures and strokes, and the strokes took away her vision,” Tanner said.

She says the Greer community, along with Make-A-Wish and other agencies have been so supportive of their journey.

“Obviously, every mom just wants their kid to be happy and to see her eyes light up in the excitement. It’s just great. It was a great opportunity for her. What Make-A-Wish does what is done for us and for the excitement the joy is just phenomenal,” Tanner said.

Next, Ellie and her family will be headed to Disney for a real life Christmas wish come true.

“It’s gonna be great I’m looking forward to it. We’re gonna be there for New Year’s and the happiest place on earth, so what better place to be?”
