“This grant has just been incredible to further that sport and help us and allow us to offer this sport to folks,” Recreation Supervisor Justin Miller said.

Registration for Pickleball clinics is now open, thanks to county funding.

“Greenville County Redevelopment Authority has granted us a grant again for the second year in a row to provide pickleball clinics for beginners, “Miller said

Allowing them to open up the program even more.

“And last year we had a grant that offered 40 of these clinics for folks in the area and we filled that up very quickly and had a long waiting list,” Miller said.

Expanding to 100 clinics this year, and allowing people in Greer to try something new.

“When anybody in the community can try a new sport her a new program a new activity that’s what we’re all about here at the city just providing different programs to all constituents,” Miller said.

And, it’s a game that can bring the whole community together.

“The sport is for anyone we have an awesome adaptive program these clinics can be for folks would life challenges maybe someone’s in a wheelchair maybe someone’s missing a limb,” Miller said.

You can sign up for one of the clinics by contacting our Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department. All you need to do is bring yourself, and a willingness to learn.

“If you don’t have any gear, we have paddles we have balls we have nets we have everything you need. We just need you to sign up and then attend the clinic,” Miller said.
